A Look into a Few of James Bond's Picture Cars

James Bond movies have everything -- thrilling action, beautiful women, exotic locations, and fancy cars.  The Bond franchise has kept audiences' attention since it began in 1962.  As picture car fanatics, we love to watch these movies and study the fast cars that James Bond keeps on driving through the years.  Let's take a look at some of 007's most famous and fancy cars.

Aston Martin DB5
Goldfinger, Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale, Skyfall

Perhaps the most famous of James Bond's picture cars is his Aston Martin DB5, and this is not only because he is seen driving it in many of the movies throughout the years.  In the movies, this car comes equipped with many of the hidden additions that a spy would need, like a hidden gun compartment, machine guns, rotating number plates, and an ejector seat.  This car inspired many of the cars that came after it.  When you think of James Bond, you instantly think of the Aston Martin DB5.

BMW 750iL
Tomorrow Never Dies

Even though James Bond movies are typically associated with flashy cars, they also have cars that can still blend in with the rest of them.  The BMW 750iL is just that car, with its classic, V12-powered engine and large size.  This large sedan boasts spy additions needed for a dramatic car chase.  Perhaps one of the most notable features of the MBW 750iL is that Bond could summon it from his cell phone.  Pierce Brosnan's Bond made quite a memorable mark on the franchise when he drove this car while sitting in the backseat.

Ford Mustang Mach 1
Diamonds Are Forever

In the 1970's, Sean Connery Bond drove the Ford Mustang Mach 1 through the streets of Las Vegas as he swerved to avoid the police.  This car boasts the 7.0 liter 375 horsepower Cobra Jet V8 under the hood, which gives it the power to destroy many cars in this infamous Law Vegas car chase.

Lotus Espirit S1
The Spy Who Loved Me

The Lotus Espirit S1 is perhaps the most notable and memorable spy car in the franchise.  This car takes a plunge off the side of a pier and then transforms into a submarine so Bond can then outrun even a boat.  When making this film, the Lotus Espirit S1 went through seven different models.  Even the stunt driver had a difficult time handling the vehicle during the making of this action sequence.

These are just a few of James Bond's famous picture cars featured in a few of the movies included in the wildly popular franchise.  Picture cars continue to fill the screens and attract both car enthusiasts and theater enthusiasts alike.  If you are looking for the perfect picture car for your commercial, TV show, movie, or other production, contact us today to hear about our quality services.
