5 Movies that Were Filmed in Atlanta

It may surprise you the number of movies that were shot in Atlanta. In fact, more films have been created in Atlanta over some recent years than in Hollywood. Here are some of our favorites that you may not have known were filmed in Atlanta.

Baby Driver

Edgar Wright’s 2017 Oscar-nominated movie features many different Atlanta settings. The bank robbers hustled across the city in six different Subaru Impreza. The movie also features a WRX STI with the rear wing removed along with numerous cop cars.

Walking Dead

Much of the filming of the original episodes of the Walking Dead was filmed in Atlanta’s Senoia suburb. If you are a fan of this show, then you know that the opening scene features a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor that runs out of gas. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Ant-Man

Atlanta’s Fairlie-Poplar Historic District was transformed into the setting for Ant-Man. While this setting was reportedly chosen because of its many historical buildings, a wide variety of modern cars were used in this 2015 production including a 2014 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S, a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV, and a 2006 Dodge Charger. Pay special attention, and you will even see a Mercedes-Benz 300SL 'Gullwing' in this film.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

While the script would like you to believe that Spider-Man came back to New York City, the truth is that he also went to Fairlie-Poplar Historic District. In this film, you can see many different cars including a 2007 Audi RDN, a 2017 Audi AB and a 2017 Audi Q7.
